Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure in India has announced shortlist of 11 startup finalists. These top startups will be incubated for 4 months, starting September 3, 2012, in a state-of-the-art Microsoft facility, under the guidance of 60 plus elite mentors from Microsoft and the industry. Microsoft Accelerator is a program aimed at helping early stage startups doing big things in Cloud, Internet and Mobile.
The 11 finalists were shortlisted based on 200 applications received from all over the world across varied domains including ecommerce, healthcare, education, digital media, enterprise, Cloud and mobile.
To come up with the final 11 startups, judges went through multiple rounds of screening.

Amplify is mobile based real-time TV guide with reminders and recommendations. Amplify brings a social angle to TV watching as well – Amplify users can discuss about their favorite shows with their friends by inviting them to watch the show collaboratively.
Caeruz hopes to mitigate the spread of ever increasing lifestyle diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases by building an online wellness platform that takes advantage of the increased penetration of the web and ever decreasing costs of handheld devices. This platform would provide customized solutions that fit the needs of each individual using informational and assistance tools while also leveraging the power of community and peer groups.
CipherGraph Networks has a Cloud VPN, a unified cloud security service that allows secure and regulated access to cloud and physical datacenter from variety of devices, including smartphones / tablets.
Hire Rabbit is a Social Recruiting platform that allows users to design a career site on social networks, boosting referral & social recruitment, while integrating with systems that they already use.
Nowfloats is a social mobile application that allows users to share and consume local information on their mobile devices. It could be termed at hyper-local mobile Information platform.
PlusTxt is a mobile messaging / texting platform that allows you to exchange text messages securely and privately. Plustxt also allows users to use rich media messages which includes audio and pictures.
Sparsha is a learning technology startup that believes in active learning and provides technology solutions to create active learning content and integrate them in existing learning solutions for Educational Institutes.
WhiteSharkk is a web browser based coding platform that allows developers to build and deploy various web and mobile applications.
World Without me enables users to create their life digitally, which will live forever even after the person has left the world physically. It essentially allows users to build their digital afterlife.
Two other startups CloudInfra and Gameizon also made it to finals of Microsoft Accelerator program, but we do not have much information about them as we were unable to find their websites.
