Much awaited feature of Google Plus is finally here – Google+ Pages – A profile page specifically for Brands and Businesses, much like its senior cousin Facebook Pages. According to official update on Google’s blog, Google+ pages will be a place where brands and businesses can connect and create a lasting bond with their customers.
Google+ Pages is rolled out globally and will be available for all users. However, based on updates seen on Google+, some users are having difficulty creating their pages.
Although, Google+ pages looks very simple with not too many features, a lot of thought seems to have gone into designing these pages. I remember Google Plus head, Vic Gundotra, saying in one of the interviews given at AllthingsD conference that "Google+ for brands will try to mimic real world collaboration of Businesses & brands with their customers” and that’s what they have exactly done.
Google+ Pages has hangouts as the main feature where businesses can interact with their customers face to face through video hang-outs. Sharing videos, pictures, limited conversations remains the core of these pages.
Google+ Pages for Brands & Businesses
According to the Google update, many brands & businesses have already created Google+ pages. You can check out some of them:
- Angry Birds
- X Games
If you have a business or a brand go ahead, create your page here.
From what I have seen since morning, Google+ Pages has got a tremendous response and their have been hordes of people creating their pages and sharing it with their followers / customers.
There is an interesting tit-bit as well – Google+ seems to have changed its logo a bit as well with a more reddish-maroon look to it.
Google+ also has its own page, and the follower count is already approaching 50,000 within a day of launch.
All in all, I really like this new offering by Google+. We sure are going hear some interesting numbers on it in days to come.
