Infosys becomes Top Indian Company for Investor Relations!


After a few months of taking flak from the press and shaky financial performance, Infosys could do with some positive news around it. What better way to be ranked No.1 Indian company in investor relations.

Infosys has been ranked on the top in all the four categories – corporate governance practices, financial disclosure procedures, IR website and online annual report. The ranking was part of a first-ever India focused study conducted by Investor Relations Global Rankings (IRGR).

As many as 80 companies signed up to be part of this ranking study conducted by IRGR including the likes of Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, Aditya Birla, Wipro, Persistent Systems etc.

Infosys has emerged the clear winner when it comes Investor Relations be it transparent and detailed reporting on financials or efficient corporate governance policies.

I sift through annual reports of companies in the IT sector on a regular basis and I can vouch for the depth and transparency of financial as well as operational data that Infosys provides in its annual reports.

There is always that iota of doubt when it comes to ranking by various institutions much like survey results but IRGR seems like an authoritative body when it comes to IR related research.

It is good to see Indian companies participating in a study like that. Companies will now be able to use these rankings to communicate their high standards of financial reporting and governance to their investors in a bid to win their trust.

Investors on their part do not want another Satyam to happen.

      Rohit, the company has been having trouble putting stellar performance for the last few quarters vis-a-vis the competition. But yes, transparent policies and full disclosure goes a long way in building investor loyalty
