If any one has any doubt that Google Plus is not really a hit – here are a few numbers that probably will make your jaw drop. Its has been just about 2 weeks since the launch of Google Plus and it has spread like wildfire over the internet – and it is still only in “invite only” Beta stage.

For the first time in the history of Google, their senior executives have come out so openly on Social Web. They are sharing stuff, offering comments and also making couple of jokes every now and then – It is really great to see that! I was fortunate enough to “hangout” Vic Gundotra, head of their Google’s Social Engineering Team and had couple of great interactions!
Today morning he shared transcript of Google CEO’s quarterly earnings call (which incidentally is going on as I write this!) and some of the numbers that have been shared are just astonishing. Here are some of the numbers !
- Google’s revenue up by 32 per cent year on year and a new record for quarterly revenue at over $9 billion!
- Over 10M people have joined Google+ during the 2 week of field trial!
- 1 billion items shared and received in a single day
- +1 button is already all over the web it’s being served 2.3 billion times a day
- 550,000 Android Devices activated a day!
- Google Chrome is the fastest growing browser with already over 160 million users
Aren’t those numbers seriously mind-boggling ?
For a company as large as Google, to still grow 32% YoY is seriously amazing.

It's long way for google to really capture social networking space. 10m users in two weeks it's not an achievement since most of gmail users are part of this nos. If google manage non-gmail users to move on google+, I see some value there.
Agreed….. And on other side there is no such difference experiance with G+ ….
These numbers are results of the kind of PR and buzz. Every one wanted an invite to see how it looks and works. I am on G= but as of now Fb is my fav.. as interact more frequently than G+. Also this could be since more of my frnds are there :)
