This is seriously a good news – Wipro becomes India’s first computer manufacturer to make 100% recyclable and Toxin Free Computer !

I will tell you why this is such-a-good-news – Have you ever thought what happens to your old computer every time you buy a new one (which incidentally is every 2-3 years, as computer shelf life is relatively short)? You either exchange it for a new one or throw it in your garbage – and that’s a big environmental hazard !

Now listen to this – that old computer you just threw away contained huge amount of toxic materials like lead, along with lower levels of mercury, arsenic, cadmium, beryllium and other toxic chemicals. These are non-recyclable & toxic chemicals that finally find their way into a land-fill eventually polluting the ground waters. Not only that – the Poly-vinyl Chloride or PVC itself cannot be recycled.

Imagine Millions of computers / Gadgets being dumped as waste and what it will do to our environment.

Hence, Wipro’s move to manufacture Toxin-Free and 100% recyclable computer is a big deal – I hope other PC manufacturers also join this movement. We as consumers can help by buying these green computers and helping our Earth to sustain for many generations to come !

Yes, this is better no doubt. But we already have too many already defunct computer systems or the ones which will be defunct in upcoming years. Even If u calculate the ones in use till date in this whole world, the number is too big to count & too dangerous for environment. I wonder how much of the ones already in current use would be recyclable.
