Were you missing your favorite cartoons all the time? Or, did you know that your children can now watch them over Mobile phones too?

Here it is- Turner International India is going to launch POGO, Cartoon Network and CNN’s videos over Mobile phones with the help of Apalya Technologies (leading Mobile Video enabler in India).

As per the news they will be available over all major mobile networks and on both GSM and CDMA technologies.

This is a welcome move for all cartoon lovers ( and not just kids). Mobile can serve as a great medium to watch cartoon videos because picture quality can be greatly enhanced without increasing the data size (just a guess, as cartoon videos can be reproduced easily over digital medium).

But, what about kids? Are they really carrying GPRS enabled (or 3G enabled) mobile phones?

As per Turner, 93% of Indian homes have mobile phones which increase the chances of accessing these videos by kids in such households. probably a valid point, but I hope they would advertise it in such a manner that kids would get to know about this in first place.

What are your thoughts – Does Cartoons on Mobiles make sense to you?
