Media Monday 2020

Since I read and post media related stuff almost every day through newspapers, internet, TV and Mobile, this thought amazed me-

what would happen to the Media Monday posts 10 years down the line?

With newer technologies coming almost every day and people anticipating new and innovative products emerging anytime, we should definitely think of what would happen to all say in the next ten years.

Here is probably what the Media Monday posts will look like :)

Sony launches first multiple screen Television with personalization features:

Do you think that one TV is not enough for your family of four? Are you in need of a technology that can understand what you want to watch based on your interests and show the same over “your” screen? Yes, it’s now possible for you to watch your favourite Baseball match over one (virtual) screen, while your wife can enjoy her culinary shows on other and your kids can watch their favourite cartoons over their personalized TV.

All you need is Sony’s new “Multia” TV! It’s just one TV, but has the capability to show 4 multiple channels over as many virtual screens (simultaneously! ) angled at 60 degrees each. With its unique projector and set top box (which has the capability to capture your demographic details and then personalizing your screen with Channels of your choice), this Television is here to change the way we watch it!

Create your own newspaper through twitter and get it delivered over Tablet instantly:

Apple Inc. and Twitter.com have joined hands to change the way newspapers are published and delivered. With all the major journalists from various fields tweeting their news before it actually reaches publication, it seems to be a very promising step by both these companies.

Now you can go to an application “MyDailyNews” over twitter and use it to find your favourite news areas. You can then choose from available journalists who post their news tweets every day from different locations of earth and can create your own newspaper.

That’s it! The next day your Tablet PC will ping you with a fresh copy of your hand-made news paper. The news will also be optimized using special software that will guarantee that only best news is served to you.

All major newspaper publications are coming up with regulations to stop their journalists from tweeting any news before it gets published. But the money involved for top class journalists from advertisements over Tablet PC is huge and they are threatening to leave their jobs all together, if something like this happens.

Nokia enables personalized Radio stations over ZZZ8080 model:

Today we have over 400 radio channels in India. There are more than 10 genres of sounds running over various channels. 10 other categories cater to news, jokes, adult advice etc. If these many channels and genres and categories have made you ‘Radio phobic’, then Nokia has come up with a solution- its new ZZZ8080 model. This model is specifically for those who think there are just too many radio stations to listen to any!

With a unique software developed by a collaboration between Nokia and Google (over Android platform), you can now select various categories and genres of radio using the application and the application will do the rest for you. It’ll automatically identify Radio stations serving your kind of stuff almost immediately. The application also has the options where in you can manually add or delete any radio station which you think serves your kind of music.

Since it also connects to digital Satellite Radio, it can also take you to any station serving music of your favourite Band or Music Director or Movie. You just need to set your favourite keyword’s category over the application and enable ‘Switch to my favourite Music’ button. So whenever there is Music related to these keywords your station will automatically switch to that channel. Cool! Isn’t it?

Now back to 2009 :)

I have generously given 10 years time for such kind of innovations to become mainstream, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a reality say in next 5 years itself.

I was thinking of posting something unique for our Media Monday readers this time around – Just to give myself and my readers a break from Mundane stuff! Hope the readers liked it.
