Yeah, we have a top list today for our readers today – The best 20 Information Technology Employers in India.

The survey was conducted by Dataquest and IDC jointly – The DQ-IDC Best Employers Survey.

This survey surprisingly does not feature the big 4 IT companies in India – Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech-Mahindra(Satyam).

Here is an interesting note from the people behind the survey:

While majority of the large Indian as well as MNC companies resorted to layoffs as a business necessity; they did very little to control the knee-jerk response. Things took an ugly turn, with negative headlines on the HR front dominating media coverage, sometimes at the risk of the companies image.

While many of these reports were true, many were not entirely so. And this we realized only on approaching each company for the DQ-IDC Best Employer Survey 2008.

The lack of transparency and hesitation in sharing information was discomfiting. Four large companies ended up not participating and all for the first time in the history of this research.

The reasons cited were corporate policies preventing the sharing of sensitive HR information. For all those who love reading between the lines, the little said the better.

Based on the above comment, we all can guess who the top 4 companies might be. Does it mean that these companies have hidden skeletons in their closet ?

Here is the complete list of Top 20 IT Employers in India.

HCL Infosystems takes the top spot, followed by iGate & Rolta. Some notable names Like Sify Technologies comes at 13th, Hexaware Technologies at 15th and Patni Computer Systems at 16th.

To be honest, I have not heard about half of the companies on this list.

Top Reasons Why people change their jobs:

More than half of them change their jobs because of money, while a third are looking for overseas opportunities or career development.

Surprisingly, only 18% look to change the job for job security.

I can’t believe ROLTA is at 3rd position. I don’t know how the survey is conducted and who was involved in taking this survey. It’s the worst company i have ever seen in terms of employee benefits and retaining employees. This is my personnel experience!!!

    Hi,
Let me know what are the basis for evaluation of the company the best companies like Cognizant (CTS) despite in recission period it distributed bonus to thier employee, where that company in the list, this list is fake taking heavy money from the companies and made the list. The evaluation should be made by interviwng the employees of teh companies how much they are satisfied from the organisation related to work enviroment,I believ this was taken into consideration during making list, even Accenture,Capegemini,MindTree Many are the best IT company which need to be considered.

Are these rateing are considered while rating the companies as below link,,,,

kindly check and update the list,,,

its is creating bad image of the organisation who made the list…………….

IMHO there is nothing valuable in this list…

I mean employers like Google, Amazon and Yahoo! should definitely be there…even though they are not Indian companies, it doesn’t matter for an employee…technically, CTS is also not an Indian company…(there is hardly anything to boast about CTS in terms of employee perks either…)

This definetly looks like a fabricated list. Most of the india’s best companies are not even listed here..Look at some of them , who i guess ppl may not have heard even. The HR’s of these companies may have given false and fabricated data .Plz get to the real employee satishfaction statistics.
    Thanks

What worries me is that these studies often do not take the responses from the proper sample population, and the weights of the criteria taken in to consideration is often biased by judgment rather than a scientific methodology.
