Have you ever wondered how much Investment has gone into Early and Growth stage companies by various Venture Capitalists in India.

Here are the list of VCs based on number of Investments, Value of their Investments and total funds raised by them.

Interestingly, Sequoia Capital India tops the charts for all three of them, so it could be safely said that they are the top Venture Capitalists in India. They have made more than double the investments in companies and raised more than 5 times of the funds as compared to 2nd ranked VC !

    Great Report.

Interesting to note how one of the top VCs from the valley – KPCB is fairly down in the list here. India not a focus for them?

Thanks for dropping by Amit, you are spot on with that observation. Infact, apart from Sequoia, very few VCs have big presence in the valley.

Not surprising. I guess other than Nexus and Inventus(?), most are PE firms (at least when it comes to their Indian investments).

Hi Arun, The tables and data that you have used in this post are a straight lift from Outlook Business. I notice that you attribute to ‘source’ at the end of the post, but at no place is the information directly attributed to Outlook Business. That would be copyright violation. Please do rectify.

I am not sure what you mean Snigdha, the source is a direct link to the post that you have written. Also, from the whole post, I have taken the table and no text has been copied or picked up. Anyways, what I can do is to replace “source” with outlook business. I hope that is what you mean.

If you see any of the posts, that is the normal rule that we follow…

It would be nice if the source above also explicitly mentioned Outlook Business where it is taken from and is linked to.

    Ashok,
What makes your ‘nice website idea’ unique is what VCs will look for other than the business potential.

You shall first try to reach Angel investors before going to VCs.

Your blog seems to be an interesting one with good data.

There seems to be another interesting blog on investment opportunity in education.
I think there may be investors and educationists who would like to explore education sector in India and Indian states.

This BLOG does not have a proposal but a scenario where a lot can be explored.
