Yay ! Its the 2nd anniversary !!!

by Arun Prabhudesai on May 1, 2009

WOW ! Trak.in completes 2 years today. Although, I wrote my first post on 26th April 2007, officially it is the 1st May when I launched the blog in the internet world.

Starting a blog was on my mind atleast a year before I actually started. But am I glad I did :)

Without exaggeration, trak.in has in many ways changed my life for good. This blog was one of the reasons I moved back to India – not only that, leaving my cushy job and jumping into unknown waters of Entrepreneurship was also to a large extent because of Trak.in.

Looking back, I feel trak.in has given me so much more than I could have asked for. Thank you Trak.in !

Unfortunately last few months, I have not been writing much myself due to my own startup hover.in. however, it is going to change, I am going to start writing more frequently than I have been – and I am going to keep upto that promise.

Although, I have not been writing much lately, Sriram Vadlamani, who has come on board since last September has been publishing some great posts and insights – I could not have asked for a better person to be part of trak.in . Thank you Sriram !

So where does trak.in stand at the moment?

Trak.in has been steady in its traffic growth (although not as much as I would have liked) and has doubled compared to previous year. Here is a snapshot of Google Analytics since May last year.

Yearly_trak.in_stats

Last year Trak.in witnessed close to 1.56 million visits with 4.33 million pageviews.

As of now, trak.in stands as the top business blog in India, and I am sure that tag will remain with trak.in for a very very long time to come.

RSS Subscribers growth as been pretty good as well. As of today, the feedburner subscriber count shows 4767 feed subscribers. In last year, trak.in has managed to add close to 3000 subscriber, which works to around 250 subscriber addition monthly.

Here is the snapshot of Feedburner subscriber count in last one year. Unfortunately, Feedburner is not generating yearly graph of subscribers. Feedburner has really deteriorated since Google has taken them over – one of many many more cases of google screwing up after takeover.

Feedburner_starts

The biggest thanks however goes to trak.in readers who have been visiting the blog regularly and communicating with us with flowers and brickbats – that’s what a blog is all about  – interaction !

I would love to hear from you guys on how we could improve trak.in further.

Congratulations!

What you have achieved in the pas two years is remarkable. 1.5 m visitors in a year our of nowhere is a commendable feat! Great going. And Sri has been bang on with his witty take on business affairs, lending trak.in a sense humour and attitude.

Great Job Arun. My heartiest congratulations. I takes a lot of patience and perseverance to keep up the blog, and you have shown both. Get going for many more years and trak.in will remain the top india business blog.

@ramarao : I think your comment should be our tag line in 140 characters or less. That’s exactly what we do, but you know what, you are the first person to articulate that.
