The new look trak.in blog

Finally, after 3 days of testing and fine-tuning we have got Trak.in blog upgraded to the latest version of WordPress. What is more exciting however is, the theme change that was on cards for last couple of months. After trying out various free as well as customized themes, I have settled down for Shifter – A simple, highly extensible and fast loading theme – the three most important aspects for me to choose shifter.

You will see quite a few cosmetic changes in coming days that will make Trak.in blog more user-friendly and appealing.

As the change of themes and version upgrade happened at the same time, it is possible that visitors may encounter some bugs .  I would request readers to drop me a line if you come across any such errors.

One of the highlights of this theme is visitor can choose where he wants the content to be seen. You can either have the content in middle or to your left with both the sidebars moving to right simply by clicking the button provided on the upper right.

If you have a blog and currently looking for a theme change, you should definitely look at shifter!

I am also looking for suggestions from readers as to what they would like to see on trak.in blog (from content presentation perspective).

now ur blog looks very good buddy. I need your help in upgrading my blog because i am novice in blogging and importantly blogger do not have so many features as there in wordpress. I go through full blogger help but was unable to find out what i was searching for.
even i am also thinking about the rebranding of my blog too.

I like this structure much better.

I especially like the way that your layout can be changed with those little black and white buttons (sorry I don’t know what they are called). I prefer the reading content on the left. I haven’t seen that before in a template theme.

This looks beautiful. Nice and simple layout.

@M.P.Singh – you have a good blog. However there are several blogspot templates available and 1 suggestion, change the background. Somehow the colors are not appealing.

S.Mesa, Yes…that is one of the highlight of the theme, you can change the content placement the way you want. Some prefer centered and some on the left. I am going to try both centered as well as on the left.

Thanks Ashwin…I wanted a simple layout at the same time, something that is appealing enough and not comlpetely bland, so I went ahead with Shifter…and MPSingh I agree with Ashwin’s suggestion, you should think about the backgrouond…One of the important aspects on any site is the whitespace, more the white space the better it is…

just realized that having the side bars on the right is messing things up. one of the bars is going deep down. i am using ie6.0

@Vivek…Can you please check again…I just tested out in I.E 6, it seems to be fine…the 3rd bottom widget was giving some problems, but it has got fixed now…I’d appreciate if you could see and tell me if it is okay now..

Thanks Ashwin for pointing it to Investnest….A lot of people still miss that..:)
One of the things that I wanted to ask readers was what change would they like to see….or what extra things would they like to see on trak.in….I am still tweaking with the theme and some inputs would be of great help…
