October Roundup: Stats and more

by Arun Prabhudesai on November 6, 2007

I am late on giving the October update, but here it is. Better late than never :)

October marked 6 months completion of Trak.in blog. From 3800 pageviews / 20 subscribers in May 07 to nearly 110,000 pageviews / 900 subscribers in October 07, it has been a fascinating journey.

In my last roundup, I had mentioned that my target for October was 1000 subscribers and 110,000 pageviews. Although, I fell short of my subscriber target, the increase in pageviews was more than expected.

Thank you Trak.in readers and off-course Google :) (70% of my traffic comes from Google).

Since the start of this blog, I have published around 280 articles, averaging about 45 articles per month.

In October, I ran comment and earn contest, the response for which was not as much as I would have liked, but it surely taught me thing or two about running a contest on a blog. In the hindsight, I would have conducted the contest much differently.

I am not sure about how November will pan out, as I will be moving back to India (for good) somewhere around 3rd week of November. I will also be spending quite a bit of time on hover.in, considering that we plan to launch the Beta in early December.

As you must have already noticed, Trak.in now accepts guest posts and articles. So, if you have interesting piece of article, just drop me a line. I will be happy to publish it. I am also looking for regular contributors.

Any guesses what the traffic / subscribers will look for next month? :)

Nissidhi,
Nice to know that you are a regular visitor of Trakin. I am originally from Pune, so will be moving back there. I have couple of other ideas that are at very ear;y stage. To start off it will be hover.in and Trak.in blog, however, you should also hear about my other initiatives in Jan 08 :)
