Looks like, there is a Paradigm Shift taking place at Microsoft Corp. Although they have been in the offline software arena all through their existence, Microsoft has been forced to realign their business opportunities as Google have lent their software services free of charge.
After the five long years of building Vista the company has considered to change their core capability and move into lines of online advertising.
For some of us who have not viewed the new animated version of search engine of Microsoft, here it is – MSDewey. The Website is far behind when compared to Google/Yahoo in terms of its speed, content and user friendliness but it definitely is an eye catcher to a new visitor who will experience the hilarious scene of the actress. (This is a must watch-atleast from fun perspective. I bet you will search less and look at the eye candy more.)
Steven A Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft signaled on the 2nd of November 2007 that they will bank on some of the revenue for the next four years from the subscription business, transaction and advertising business. Their attempt to acquisitions is open, the talks on acquiring a stake in Facebook and the advertising group Aquantive shows their keen business interest in the social network and communications line of work.
Google Analytics that faced no competitors have now a reason to worry and the reason is Microsoft Gatineau. Its Beta version is open to the US residents.
Along similar lines, their Live Search Webmaster Portal, has called an open challenge to Yahoo! Site Explorer and Google Webmaster Central..
Now their outburst on all possible online avenues has instigated a talk in the town. But how far and how soon is a question? Microsoft has a strong chance when compared to the rising price options by the other portal ads. And with the free analytics tool tied to their adcenter I look forward to its release.
