by Arun Prabhudesai on October 20, 2007

Dussera marks one of the most important and auspicious days in Indian culture. This festival is celebrated throughout India as a sign of triumphant victory of good over evil. The word Dassera/ Dussera / Dasara / Dussehra comes from the word “Dus” which means ten and “Hra” stands for annihilation-The end of the ten-faced one i.e Ravan, the King of Lanka from the epic Ramayana.

Happy Dussehra to you. The best thing I like about Dussehra in the offices in India is when the office equipments such as computers, printers undergo the Ayudh Puja.!
:) My american colleague finds it difficult to digest this. In the olden days, weapons were used for Puja. I think in the current world, the computer is the weapon!
