Relation of Rising Rupee to Bollywood and Indian Mangoes… Hilarious !

by Arun Prabhudesai on October 13, 2007

I have been writing about the rupee/ falling dollar so much that it was but natural for me to put this video made by TheIndiaStreet team. The video gives you a funny take on relation between rising rupee and Bollywood / Indian mangoes.

When theIndiastreet team sent me their first video on 10 reasons why Indians like gold, I liked the way they presented it. Ditto for this video, Although it may lack bit of professional touch, it has enough meat to keep you watching till the end.

A hilarious take and good effort from The India street team.

A small note: I am not really sure if I should put this, but some may find this video not in the best taste. I would be interested to know what you think.

Rupee up and mango:
Interesting video, but not convincing. It does not carry any hit massage to experts or folks. Presentation is good, not pleasing. Why mango? Should it not justify the subject .

outsourcing the  outsource:

Your write up on outsourcing under the caption
SW outsourcing comes full circle, is interesting .
This device is not unusual .What is really going to hit in the next few years is the Companies outsourcing ,are not blind to what India is doing and are only waiting in their wings to seize the cheap markets so carefully cultured by India. As these are   swings with global destinations   India can have no control over these. As long as India, develops a strong base of    IT personnel  and stands out with excellence in Service,it has no rivals in real time.

Surely enough outsourcing to  US itself , to Georgia and other less developed areas in US, is more a joke than a long range plan. When in US, I  had met   with some executives in SW business circles,  who were against outsourcing itself  but for , not costs , the Visas quota.. The new upcoming educated  US students are sorely disappointed[many do not prefer IT studies/training], as outsourcing is taking away their jobs to distant destinations. Even SW employees were scared when their Company would close preferring outsourcing.!!  One Senior SW engineer[US] was asked to train up four Indian students , and on the last day of the training he was told that the 4 are taking away the projects to India and so he was out. He created a great furore and committed suicide. This had its due impacts in US.  Hence, the claim it has come full circle is notional and if any, temporary.
