You are living out of India and still miss watching Indian Television channels?
Worry not! WatchIndia.tv is there for you. Now you can watch Indian television channels from anywhere across the globe. The only requirement is you need a broadband internet connection.
WatchIndia.tv is an innovative new Internet Television company. Its goal is to bring Indian TV channels to those residing outside of their country of origin. WatchIndia has partnered with top rated networks in India to provide breaking news, hit series, entertainment specials, fascinating documentaries, thrilling cricket matches, and the best of Bollywood movies. I liked couple of things about them, First – they are catering to the need that exists currently in US, UK and Canada. For example, if I want to subscribe to one single Hindi channel via cable or Dish TV, it costs me nearly $15 per channel, whereas WatchIndia.tv offers 9 different channels for $25 and I can watch them anywhere irrespective of my location as long as I have broadband. The difference however is that I am watching on my computer instead of a T.V. Secondly, I can watch and download serials and movies at my own convenience.
However, like I have mentioned before their biggest competition is from p2p network. All the movies, serials and everything you want is available free of cost, albeit illegally.
How can they beat that competition ?
Another aspect I would like to highlight is about the player itself. I did come across a few errors and a plugin needed to be installed to view in firefox. The quality of stream however was excellent even in full screen mode, it did not distort much. Definitely better than TV. The site does cater to the need, but we need to watch on how successful their model is due to the stiff competition from peer to peer networks.
What I would like to see are some web2.0 features. They need to have forums, chats, tagging and social networking built into their site. They need to make it more viral by using these web2.0 features.

This is a well-established and well-covered space and I am not sure if watchindia.tv is offering anything different from what NUMTV and others are offering. I dont think NUMTV is not an illegal p2p service and it offers almost all channels that are available on Dish and Directv via streaming web interface
Is this a legal site.? I went to their “Contacts” section, and did not find any address or telephone number. Based on my personal experience, whenever, a dotcom does not provide that info, I smell something illegal there! Just my opinion.If you know the folks out there, let them know that this information is necessary.

Frankly, if we were not legal we would not be spending on marketing as other illegal sites solely use word of mouth.
