August Wrap-up: Traffic, Subscribers and popular posts

Trakin completed 4th month of business blogging in August. Last month I wrote about the traffic and direction Trak.in is taking. This is a small update to that.

Trak.in received 55000 pageviews in month of August, an improvement of around 180% over month of July. The subscriber base too doubled. As of writing this post, Trak.in shows a subscriber base of 367 as compared to nearly 175 by July end. So other than the traffic on the blog, these subscribers read the posts regularly through RSS Reader or Email Application.

Towards the end of August, Trak.in blog was down intermittently due to server upgrade and hence the lows. Like I mentioned last time, the most heartening figure of all for me is the time spend by readers on site. The time spent improved by around 33 second per reader over last month. It stood at 6:43 seconds compared to 6:10 seconds last month.

An interesting thing that a reader can see is how many users are currently online, what have been the average concurrent readers over last months by clicking on , you can also view what are the subscribers reading and their location.

Some of the posts that generated quite a bit of traffic in month of August were:

• Online Bollywood movie Releases: Will this trend be successful ?
• New Online Startups: Do they give enough importance to user friendliness ?
• Indian Search Engines : Who is winning the race ?
• Top 10 reasons why you should be an Entrepreneur
• Indian Mergers and Acquisitions: The changing face of Indian Business
• How will Indian local search startups tackle Google India Initiatives?
• Indian Online Airfare search: Comparative Analysis of 10 different travel sites.

One of the points that I mentioned in my last update was that I will changing the blog design, however, I have not got around doing it. Hopefully you should see it in this month.

I would love to hear readers view on how I can improve my blog to make it user-friendly. In the last update I mentioned that I’d be redesigning this blog to make it more user-friendly. However, I have not got around doing it as yet due to time crunch.
