Google is the latest entity to joint the bandwagon for support on H1B quota increment. The US search giant has urged Congress to increase the quota for H1B by highlighting the contributions of highly skilled workers coming on H1B. Google cited the examples of Sergey Brin and Krishna Bhagat, who are both from foreign origin. The former is a co-founder and later is the principal scientist, both of who have lions share in Google’s success. This has come on back of the news recently in media about US senators blaming Indian companies for abuse of H1B visas.
Krishna Bhagat, an Indian, joined Google in 1999 and was the chief creator of Google News and is now a principal scientist in the company. One of the the reasons Google has come out openly with its backing for H1B quota is due to the fact that they are not able to pursue highly qualified candidates. Most companies in Silicon Valley, like Intel, Ebay, Sun Microsystems and Yahoo are all facing similar talent crunch and H1B is the way in which these problems can be resolved.
According to me other reason why US companies are going all out for the increase of quota is also because countries like India and China are now not only going all out to retain their skilled workers, but also looking for skilled workers from other countries as well, which means they are slowly starting to compete with US itself. At the same time US is also fighting the reverse brain drain, where people who came to US few years back are returning back to India looking at the attractive growth prospects.
Knowledge based economies like US and India are highly dependent on skilled workers and any shortage in it directly affects the growth in Economy.

I was in US for 8 months [ I am not a compu man]
But you know what? with all the rhetoric …US economy is hit hard with over 8 mn jobs lost and more joining the line everyday.
Two persons after ship-wreck were struggling and there was one plank which they held out to save. But no. It could’nt take!
