Foreign Institutional Investors are in love with India. They are betting big time on Dalal street. The amount of investment that has poured into India in last 3 Years is more than total investment they made in the country since India got Independence.
The total investment that Foreign Investors (FIIs) have made in India currently stands at 220,000 crore rupees or $52 Billion. These figures were as of April 2007. In first 4 months of this year itself FIIs have put in around 15000 crores.
Normally, when FII are so confident, it means the fundamentals of the economy are strong and future outlook is rosy. Another important factor is also that India is now less reliant on the monsoon for its GDP growth. Other sectors like manufacturing and services are growing at a breath-neck pace of more than 10% to 11% year on year, thereby ensuring that GDP growth maintains it high rate.![]()
The Sensex is touching 15000, not only because of these FIIs, but also the general Indian investor participation in markets has grown at nearly 40% from last year. This is due to the fact that Indian middle class is now having much disposable cash than ever before.
If you have not yet got into the game, I suggest you do it now. Next 5 years are going to be excellent for markets. Make merry till the Sun shines !
