Nexus VP invests USD 2.5 million in online real-estate startup Housing.co.in
Less than a year old online real-estate startup, housing.co.in has received a big boost with a USD 2.5 million dollar funding from Nexus Venture Partners.
Housing.co.in was started just eleven months ago by a group of IIT Bombay students with the aim of disrupting online real estate market.
If you look at housing.co.in site, and you will understand they are actually on track to create a platform that has potential to change the online real estate market.
The sites is extremely easy to use with exceptional user interface that allows visitors to easily to get an idea of the complete real estate property without necessitating physical presence.
There are many large and medium web sites that are currently in this space. However, housing.co.in’s user experience is by far the best that I have experienced of all.
Their unique map based user interface keeps unnecessary apartments out of the way and lets the visitor visually focus on just the neighborhood they are interested in. Accurate data about neighborhood, commute route to bus stations, train stations along with photos of every apartment listed are listed to ensure that potential visitor is able to find the property exactly as per their needs.
I did a sample search in my area in Pune (see above screenshot), and I was pleasantly surprised to find many houses available for rentals and outright buying as well, which also included house photographs among many other things.
Most of the sites in this space do not offer the depth of information that housing.co.in offers and this is where they stand out. This is also precisely the reason why such a young site was able to secure USD 2.5 million funding.
With funding in place, housing.co.in plans to add many new features to their website that include Area based pricing and society ratings that will offer full insight of the property that potential buyers and renters are looking at.
This is one of the startups that surely needs to watched out in the future!
