Maruti Suzuki has taken the opportunity to tap the podium of Auto Expo 2012 to overcome the loss of business opportunity it went through due to labor strike issues at its key Manesar plant.
The country’s largest car-maker has left no stones unfurled to be the centre of attraction in the 11th Auto Expo being held in New Delhi, which is increasingly gaining prominence in the global automotive industry.
At first, MSIL announced its entry into fast-growing SUV market by unveiling its compact SUV XA Alpha. This was followed by Maruti’s global premiere of new compact Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) – Ertiga, a first step to enter into the Utility Vehicle segment.
Moving forward with its tradition of manufacturing cars with K-series engine; the 3 row, 7-seater Ertiga is characterized by the all new powerful and light weight K-14 VVT petrol engine, which delivers a maximum power of 70kw at 6000 rpm and torque value of 120 Nm at 4000 rpm.
In addition, Ertiga’s diesel variant is powered by 1.3 litre DDiS Super Turbo engine, which is likely to provide fuel efficiency of 20.77 kmpl; as against 16.02 kmpl available in the petrol version.
