(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 26, 2010 ) DETROIT, MI Fresh from the touring circuit, rebellious pop punk band Konniption Fit has teamed up with other regional Detroit bands to release their debut album, Ballistic, January 30th at the legendary TNT’s Bar & Grill. Situated in the Detroit suburb of Clinton Township, TNT’s frequently hosts some of the best local and regional acts the area has to offer. This all-ages show begins at 8pm.
In addition to the release of Ballistic, fans can expect an action-packed lineup of great music from a variety of bands, as well as exciting giveaways and raffle items from Konniption Fit endorsers like Coffin Case.
Konniption Fit is brimming with hook-laden, pop punk bliss contrasted with guitar-driven modern rock, creating a fresh sound with mass-crossover appeal. A bright light emerging from Motor City, this is a band that isn’t afraid to step outside the darker Detroit music box and tap into diverse influences.
Produced by Andy Patalan at The Loft studios in Saline, Michigan, Ballistic features 12 upbeat pop punk songs, sharpened to a razors-edge with modern rock. Catchy, lush harmonies and melodies, the roar of Marshall-driven guitars, sledgehammer drums and tight, pulsing bass lines entice the listener to sing along and slam dance all at once.
The sound of Konniption Fit covers many sonic territories, from crunchy ear candy to rebellious moments of anarchy, that when put together create music with a raw, rebellious attitude. Additionally, the band’s live show is a force to be reckoned with. Coupling music with conviction and a devastating onslaught of catchy melodies and high-energy performance, Ballistic isn’t something fans will soon forget.
While working hard to promote their live show, Konniption Fit has played some of Detroit’s most notorious venues, including the Royal Oak Music Theater, St Andrews Hall, The Crofoot, and The Emerald Theater. Through hard work, they’ve performed alongside national recording acts such as Days of the New, Taproot, Sponge, Ashes of Soma, WWE Diva Christy Hemme, The Luchagors (featuring Lita from WWE), The Muggs (Greatest American Band finalists), Frequency 54, and Crud to name a few.
