Ayojak Secures Angel funding from Blume, Srijan and HBS Angels

Ayojak, a leading online ticketing & event management solutions company, has secured funding from HBS Alumni Angels, Blume Ventures, and Srijan Capital. This funding was closed about a month back, however, the company help off the announcement till all the formalities were completed.

The new investors in Ayojak.com include multiple angel investors Rajan Anandan, Ravi Gururaj & others from HBS Alumni Angels, Blume Ventures, Srijan Capital and Kishore Warrier. Ravi Gururaj of HBS will be joining the board of Directors of Ayojak.

According to the press release, Ayojak will be using funds infusion to launch new products and features on their platform. Ayojak also plans to extend to different verticals including training & educational institutions, seminars, workshops, lifestyle activities, last minute tickets, adventurous trips and social activities.

Ayojak’s Founder & CEO, Santosh Panda, told us that they have secured enough funds for product enhancement and marketing initiatives and will last them for next 15 to 18 months, after which they plan to go for next round of VC funding.

Ayojak has been roughly clocking close to 125 events in recent months. They managed 425 events in 3rd quarter of 2012 as compared to 381 events in the whole of FY 2010-11.

‘Sports’ category has been the fastest growing event category on Ayojak, while ‘business & education’ topped the chart in number of events that were managed by Ayojak.

Online event ticketing in India

Event Ticketing space in India currently has many players, including biggies like Bookmyshow and kyazoonga. However, they cater to large sporting events, movies and concerts like IPL & International matches, box-office tickets etc. However, there are many small and medium sized events / concerts that happen on frequent basis. Ayojak, over last couple of years has been able to create a market for themselves in that space.
